March 2010 ~ Part 2

Ok, so a continuation for March....PART 2!!

So while my family was in, we did a lot of different fun activities, and it was SO great to see them. I'm SO lucky to have a family that will make such a trech to come and visit! I loved every minute of it, and hope it can happen again soon!!!

Another event that happened in late March was our neighborhood's Easter Egg Eggstravaganza, so here are a few pics from that event. It was a lot of fun for the girls. They each had there own egg hunt, since it was separated by ages. They also got their faces painted, well Kate and Hailey did, Brooke wanted NO part of that! ha. Kate also did a sack race, which was fun, I think she ended up doing it like 4 times! There was also a #'s game, and Hailey ended up winning that one. So all things considered, it was a GREAT day of fun!!! :)
Another GREAT event that happened this March, was that our 4 1/2 year old, Hailey, learned to ride her bike without training wheels!! This was a big event, and we are SO proud of her!!! We were planning on buying her differnet training wheels, since the ones on her bike where totally worn out, but when I went to pick up the bike (I bought on Craigslist) we discovered it was Brooke's size, and the training wheels where way to small! So that meant, the training wheels just had to come off, and they did!

Well, I think that sums up our March for the most part! I hope you are all enjoying these blogs, its a great way to look and see what's going on with the Asimus 5! :) Enjoy, and Happy April!! :)

March 2010 ~ Part 1

Ok, so I said I was going to do a blog once a month, or at least try to keep up with it. So here we go, here's March's official blog! :) Enjoy!

March was another busy month for the Asimus 5. Kate had her spring break, and we were lucky enough to have my mom, and my sister, and my 6 nieces and nephews come join us for the week! :) It was also Kate's Birthday this month! On the 13th she turned 7 :) Here's a pic of me and my sweet 'baby' on her special day!
We had lots of fun and did lots of different activities. Our 'main' event was Kate's 7th Birthday!! :) Kate had an awesome birthday. The actual day of her birthday, the 13th, Chris and I had a parenting conference we went to at our church, that was amazing, and taught us so much about good parenting! So after the conference, we all went to Cici's Pizza, which was Kate's choice for dinner! Here is a pic at the restaurant, then we went to church, it was a great day. The next day, she had her party at our house, with 30 kids. We rented a Pink Princess Castle jump house, and had a pinata, and had a wonderful time with presents, cake, ice-cream, and lots of fun! :) She wanted a Strawberry Shortcake theme this year, so we went all out for her. My friend, April, makes cakes, and so she did Kate's cake for us!! It was amazing!! We loved it, and it tasted perfect!! :) :) :) Here are a few good pics from her birthday: Here is a picture of Uncle Chris and Rebekah / "Becca"Me with Samuel / "Sammy" in the bounce houseChris with Brooke in the bounce houseAfter the party was over, our week of adventure was just beginning! One of the days w+e took all the kids to a fun place called Going Bonkers!
Another day and we all went to the Ft. Worth Zoo. We went on Wednesday, which was not only Spring Break, but it was also half price day, and all I can say is the news helicopters were out, b/c it was SO busy!! Luckily, my mom had a great idea that day, and we put all the kids in their RED t.shirts for 'grand-kids' camp. We had lots of fun!! :) It happend to be March 17th, so it was St. Patricks day too...haha. So here we are are at the zoo having our St. Patrick's Day Picnic Lunch. Then we walked the whole zoo, including me standing in line at one point with 5 of the kids to touch a sting-ray. That was fun, and interesting. Then we passed all the 'main' animals, the rino's, giraffe's, the hippos, and even the elephants, which is when Chris got to join us for the day. After that, we ended the zoo adventure with the birds. Brooke LOVES birds!! So she, as well as all the kids, really enjoyed walking through the bird arena, and feeding them, while the birds landed on their sticks. It was so much fun, and the weather was perfect. So other than the mile walk to and from our cars, it was great! We did have 2 strollers however, and one large wagon, yes we were a parade in ourselves. Haha! Here's some of the 'zoo' pics. Chris with Brooke, Kate, Naomi, Becca, and Hailey, looking at Mr. Elephant. Here is a pic of all 9 of them, with our Red t.shirts, and our green leighs for St. Patty's day ;)
Here is another pic we took of all 9 of them in age order. From Left to Right: Josiah-7, Kate-7, Joshua-6, Naomi-5, Hailey-4, Nathaniel-4, Rebekah-2, Brooke-2, and Samuel-1. Again, in age order on the stairs. What a fun bunch of kids!! Love them all!! :)Well, I got through about half of the pics I have to post for the month, so look back for March update part 2!....coming soon! ;)

2010~February's update:Part 2

OK, I figure if I don't do all this tonight, it might not get done this week, so here we go. The next thing to talk about are our "special nights". Each week, we take one of our kids out and have a special night with just them. It's truly been a rewarding thing for us and for them. They each enjoy the one on one time with mommy and daddy, and we have really enjoyed seeing each of them individually! Here is our special night with Brooke. She wanted to go to Chick Fil A and play at the play-place and have dinner, so we did just that! Next is one of Hailey's special nights. She wanted to go to Build a Bear, so again, we did just that. Now don't get me wrong, there is a budget for these special nights, so sometimes they have to get the cheapest 'bear' but we always make it known that it's about having special moments with mommy and daddy, not about what we do! :) So of course, when it came time for Kate to have her special night the next week, she wanted to do the same as Hailey, and so she also went to Build a bear. I don't have those pics uploaded yet though. We've been doing the special nights since November, and it's just a great thing to do! I highly recommend it to any families out there!!

Here is a random pic of my girls during the day, this is what they spend 99% of their time doing while Kate's at school...I love it! :)
One of the BIG events this month has been with our Brooke, she has become a very BIG girl this month! First off, back in January I tried to potty train her, but she was not interested at all, so I said I'd wait and try again in April, but she had other plans for me. One day she just woke up and decided that she was ready to use the potty, and has done great ever since! So that's been lovely! She also has moved from her crib to her big girl Dora bed. This pic is from the first time she slept in her Big Girl Bed for her nap. She did great, and has been so proud since! (Grandma Joyce, if you read this, you'll notice that's the blanket you originally made for Kate, but Brooke has claimed it hers! :)
The next story I have to share, is another proud mommy moment! Kate received the Star Student award for the month of February for all the 1st Grade students! She was announced in the Stampede on Friday and received a special award, and will be in the newspaper! We are SO proud of our Star Student!! Here she is with her 1st Grade Teacher, Ms. Baggett, and her award.
And to end our February, of course, we celebrated Chris' 27th Birthday!! We celebrated at Olive Garden with a bunch of our friends. Here's a few pics from the evening ;)

Well I guess that sums up our February pretty well. I'll try to keep up every month, but we'll see how it goes, but for now, there's a bunch of pics and a little insight to what's been going on with the Asimus 5!

2010~February's update

So here it is 2010. I haven't blogged in forever! I thought I'd sit down and write a bit of an update on our life. I'll start with February, b/c that's the simple thing to do. It snowed here in February, more than it normally does here in good ol Texas. We got enough snow to build snowman, have a snow ball fight, and to even go sledding. Here are some pics from our afternoon of sledding:

First is Kate, after her first ride down the hill: Next is Hailey after her first ride down the hill:Then comes Brooke:Now Daddy and Brooke:And Me:We had a great time! Brooke got cold faster than the other 2 girls, but none the less, it was a great time together as a family! The next 'event' in February wasthe Daddy Daughter Dance, however it got cancelled the night of because of the weather, so instead, we turned it into a Daddy Daughter Dinner. So the girls each got to pick a nice restaurant and go out to eat with their daddy. Here is Hailey and Chris getting ready to go to Best Thai:
Then Chris came home, changed his outfit and went out to Kobi's with Kate:
The following weekend, Chris and I went to a marriage conference at our Chruch, Elevate Life, it was a WONDERFUL conference, and we had the joy of getting the night away together, we had lots of fun, and are so blessed to have the marriage we do!

So that sums up 1/2 of February. I'll do the other half of the month in the next post, but for now, it's bedtime, and the kids have reached there limit...so goodbye for now. I'll try to finish February soon!
